Fire Island Artist Residency

Cultural workers, theoreticians, art historians and philosophers can take part in the Laboratory’s kick-off workshop and conference, taking place in Berlin this June. The conference will include artists and curators working in the contemporary art sphere with the Middle East as their orientation, while the workshop will focus on questions concerning methods and approaches to visualization of the concept of “Middle-East art.”
Oficina do Convento Art Residency
Montemor-o-Novo, Alentejo, Portugal
Deadline: June 15, 2016

Artists, architects, engineers and designers are invited to submit their proposals for projects on the following themes: Earth Architecture, Ceramics, and Sound Sculpture. The grantees will be allowed to work in the Oficinas do Convento’s studios for one month and will receive 300 € to use for the development of the project, as well as its implementation, presentation and promotion. At the end of each residency, the projects will be presented publicly in an exhibition.

Lacawac Artists Residency
Lake Ariel, Pennsylvania

Lacawac Sanctuary and Field Station is a nature preserve, biological field station, and environmental education center located near Lake Ariel Town in the Pocono Mountains of Northeastern Pennsylvania. Professional or aspiring artists are selected for one to two week-long residencies. During the residencies, artists are free to produce their artwork using the Lacawac as inspiration. Housing and limited studio space is provided.

Cow House Studios Artist Residency
Wexford, Ireland

The Autumn residency program at Cow House Studios, curated by Kate Strain, is the third endeavor allied with her project The Centre For Dying On Stage. Thematically, the residency aims to investigate the overlap between performance and performativity in contemporary arts practice. The 9-week studio residency will be accompanied by a series of events, including workshops, readings, recitals, conversations, walks, dinners, and screenings.
